A few months back, I challenged our office team to a new R&D challenge.  Take a favorite SHS mug to create a SHS Microwave Stoneware Mug Scramble recipe we could share with our fans.

OMG – a competitive spirit was unleashed!  Jessica, Kristin, Janina and Shelly would cook – and the men: Tom, Duane and Lance volunteered to taste.  First of all, I didn’t even know if it was possible to cook eggs in a stoneware mug – and then, would it be edible?  Time would tell.

We started with a basic recipe: 2 eggs, 2 Tbsp. milk and 2 Tbsp. shredded Cheddar Cheese.

And each contestant (believe me, it became a huge contest with this group) brought their own ‘secret’ ingredients.

Jessica was brave and went first.  She added Feta cheese, bacon, apples and spinach with a dash of salt/pepper.  The men tasted and were pretty happy that they were clever enough to volunteer for this exercise.

Kristin was smart.  She used 1 Tbsp. of cheese/broccoli soup (Panera Bread), mozzarella cheese, bacon, spinach and black pepper to taste.  The men smiled and extremely joyful that they were being served.

Janina (our quiet one) added green pepper, onion and 1 teas. verde sauce (Taco Bell).  Ha!  This one was good too.  The men now became a bit concerned.  They weren’t expecting such delights. How were they going to pick?  When did this easy task become difficult?

Shelly, our sales goddess, now took over the kitchen.  She was confident she would beat the rest as she knew the way to a man’s heart and had the ingredients to prove it: spinach, tomato, fresh mozzarella cheese, fresh parmesan cheese, ham and bacon.

The men sampled and grew weak and scared – they were ‘all’ so good.  This was so unexpected.  But they could only pick one… and of course, our Goddess won.

Shelly had added oodles of ham and bacon and the rest just couldn’t compete. (please know that Janina received an honorable mention.)

It was surprisingly fun – and good.  And yes, you really can cook eggs in a SHS mug.  It takes minutes.  Try it and show off your own recipe at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sunset-Hill-Stoneware/186829448995
